Re: Sack Lyon

BF for the dumb ones on here sacking the coach in yr2 ***** As has been mentioned before, I do see Ross being the Paul Roos at Melbourne-type figure to fix this club and put it on the right track. Is he the bloke who wins us a flag? Unlikely, in my opinion. However, whoever takes over will have the...

Re: Sack Lyon

So Teffers Are you saying he inherited a bad list Ipso facto Ratten had a poor list Meaning it wasn’t his coaching - it was the list then too… right?! Brett Ratten was a ripping coach. What he did with us in 2020 was fantastic and one of my all time favourite seasons. He proved how good he was agai...

Re: Sack Lyon

I'm watching the Zebs on channel 7. Hunter Clark is in everything. Not only is he clean, but he directs traffic. He understands the game and he is a leader on the field Ross Lyon was criticising his midfielders last night. He deflects blame away from himself What the footy world must realise is tha...

Re: Sack Lyon

Stop talking s*** this ain’t happening, it’s not the coaches it’s the players and Ross and the club have a plan, if u care to listen to the club of bother to go to training and ask coaches questions you would know where we are This is a cop-out, we can't just blame the players. The list is measurab...

Re: Sack Lyon

I see supporters on social media potting coaches all the time. Where would the Dogs be without Beveridge? Where would the Cats be without Scott? Where would Port be without Hinckley? I mean, a bit of perspective wouldn't go astray. This list with the players we have out injured or suspended would be...

Re: Time to sit back and relax

What happened last year - with the same list? Is Jack Steele the new Seb Ross?! Steele is clearly playing under duress. He is literally taking one for the team right now. When Clark and Crouch come back - hopefully next week, I imagine Steele will have to be managed. Rumour is his knee is hampering...

Re: Sack Lyon

Freo have an experienced and pretty good midfield. They also have a very decent backline. We are currently having to play 7 or 8 skinny kids every week and up to 10 players who have played less than 50 games, and in several cases, less than 10 games. An unjury list doesn't get fixed straight away, ...

Re: Time to sit back and relax

if you don't think ross is taking a long term view you don't know footy. or you're simply blind to your bias. all the game time given to kids that should be in the vfl is to fast track them. wins are secondary. old ross rarely gave kids an opportunity, because we were a contender. best 22 for the h...

Didn't turn up ready for the first quarter

I knew in my own mind tonight that if we kicked 2 or 3 goals in the first quarter and were behind even by a point at quarter time that we wouldn't win the game. And that was exactly what happened. I thought we might win before the game tonight, but I am struggling to see where we win our next match ...

Re: Sack Lyon

Cr@p. RL wasn't dropping marks and fumbling the ball and kicking the ball out on the full. We brought in 6 players tonight. I think 2 of them should not have been out there as it was like playing 2 players short all night. Lyon is one of, if not the main reason why we are still competitive. How are ...

Re: Cold Hard Facts

Not sure why anyone is thinking this team can make finals. The small losing margins flatter the squad and coaches. They're like the hiker in the forest in the US that has several close calls with bears and manages to escape each time. Makes him/her believe they have the abilities to survive out the...

Re: Cold Hard Facts

I think we've got a core of great youngsters and the only reason we're struggling is because of the injuries to important players that we have had all season, and still do, and those players trying to regain touch. We have also had four suspensions to key players, with one player still on the sideli...

Re: RTB's Presser

Ratten has proved that he could coach with the performances he got out of North Melbourne when he took over from Clarkson. Yes, they didn't win any games, but they could so easily have won four or five, they just didn't have any luck at all. He also did a very good job with us, particularly in 2020....

Re: Sandy at Wonthaggi

We have to rid ourselves of this alignment. This is exactly why when players return to the senior team they look nowhere near ready. Substandard reserves alignment. Given that our seniors have struggled for players all year due to injury, and players with long layoffs due to suspensions, we can't af...

We have lost by 8 points at geelong 3 points to essendon 1 point in Canberra 10 points in Adelaide to Port 5 points in Launceston 60 points to WB who are up and down like the proverbial. I said at the beginning of the season that if we win the games we usually don't (esp. at i/s and regional venues)...

Hate to ruin your thunder NDC… But the Bermuda Triangle has throughly been debunked as a myth. In terms of location, where things went missing, what was found… with modern tech, more or less everything has been accounted for so there is no mystery there. As for the St.Kilda FC, good luck to any of ...

We have an 8-9 record in Tasmania. 6-6 at York Park in Launceston. 2-2 vs Hawthorn in Launceston. It is meant to be 19° and sunny in Launceston on Saturday. 9/9 - we beat Fitzroy at North Hobart Oval in a match in Hobart in 1991. Lockett kicked a bag! Was RTB playing for the Lions that day? Yes.
