Re: Match thread vs West Coast.

Just been listening to updates on Sen from Darren Parkin. It sounds a bit like we need a bit more dash through the centre. NAB Cup matches are a good chance to try a few different things and I hope that that is what is happening. We are obviously still missing the run of Gwilt off the back line and ...

Re: Lessons from losing Tommy

I have just been looking at the Swans boards on Bigfooty and they reckon that Walsh was awful last night, and worse still the week before. And these were probably the very same people who were gloating last year when they picked him up. I reckon we just might own the Swans on this one.

And don't want to read pedantic or anything but how did Tommy Walsh go last night? He absolutely starred in the international series with the round ball, but once again failed to make any sort of impact in the NAB Cup on a younger opponent...

Re: Tom Lynch kicks three

Armitage proved against hawks 009 that he can cut it at the top level. He was also amongst our best against Swans in Elim last year IMO.Lynch should definitely have been given more opportunities, but nobody could argue that he struggled big style when in the seniors. He is one guy who quit us who I ...

Re: Saints to play home game in NZ on ANZAC day

Four games in N. Z would be selling our soul. I cant see that many saints supporters going over. It s not like ducking accross to tassie like 10 000 hawks supporters do, So why would the n.z govt pay our sponsorship . Plus the only ones that would go to the game would be a few ex pats, and I don't ...

Hey K, can you get a photo/video of him fainting while on tv? thats the best one. Imagine if that was your brother, or your dad, or your son? I have seen Kosi at an Auskick clinic and he was fantastic with the kids there - it was a preps group. I have seen a lot of teachers and coaches in my...

Re: Saints to play home game in NZ on ANZAC day

I don't believe in always chasing the almighty dollar, but you do need to use common sense. If we can make good coin out of TV rights, sponsorship, a sweetheart deal where these four games come at the expense of other interstate/Geelong games we would have to play anyway, I think it could work out w...

We are there. Essendon due to their own bad planning are not. Therefore a forfeit. This is another Adrian Anderson make the rules up as you go scenario. Do you actually know the rule? I dont but it seems you do. Can you explain it to us. Plugger - I don't know exactly what the AFL's rules may be, a...

No matter what game you play or where you play - if you don't turn up FORFEIT. They could have caught the bus up this morning - they knew what the weather was going to be like. Typical - if Essendon survive this fiasco without egg on their face or trial by media this will only make my already low op...

Re: Saints to play home game in NZ on ANZAC day

If it helps the club make money in the long term I am all for it. WE need to attract more dollars and if playing regular fixtures in what is really just an unofficial state of Australia anyway (Kiwi-sainters don't flame me, the Trans-Tasman agreement enshrines this 'special relationship') makes the ...

Re: We can't be serious!

The Bombers are flying to this weeks game in 27 minutes and we are taking a 3 hour bus ride. Has anyone heard what type of bus it is? 27 minutes? 10 minutes to taxi to the runway, 5 minutes waiting to take off, then being told it's too wet to take off. 30 minutes later all clear to take off. 27 min...

i'd rather take the bus , than a small plane flight in forecasted wet and windy weather ! As if that could go wrong American Pie Seriously are we that precious that we can’t take a bus ride for a few hours in Vic? Maybe a bonding session planned, a few quizzes and stories on the way up? Re: The Truth about Tommy Walsh

From the China-based member on this forum I reckon home-sickness (especially between two white, western countries) says 'guy who hasn't grown up'. Its a terrible reason to cite for why things are hard, including the use of it as an excuse to leave an interstate team and go to another one. Mitch Cla...

Re: Kosi Injury (minor?)

Remind me again St Dooley and St Byron - who played in the ruck in the second half in the 2010 Grand Final against Collingwood when Gardner went off injured? You know, the guy who beat Jolly in the second half of that same game? Oooooh, that's right, it was Kosi .... - and that wasn't three years ag...

There weren't many Cats supporters there. It was mainly Swans and us. sadly it did seem that there were more Swans than Saints colours. Their 'end' of the ground was certainly fuller.

Yabby Jeans and his defection

Jeans left us at the end of 76 and didn't go to Hawthorn until the beginning of 81. Hawthorn were going through a bit of a transition after the succesful 1970's, during which time if the 10 year rule hadn't existed - which allowed North to dominate the decade - they probably would have won two more ...

No, but I still had my doubts as to whether or not he could make it. I have seen him play in intraclub and Sandringham games and saw nothing to convince me that he deserved a place in an elite AFL team. Have you? I heard that he played a very good game against the Collingwood reserves and that in th...

Re: Kosi Injury (minor?)

Kosi is a fantastic player and extremely important to us. How good was he in 2001, 2005 and 2009? Very is the answer. People talking about Stanley being a likely replacement for Kosi better think again. Stanley, while he may become an elite player (and I think he has potential by the way) is a compl...

I think Freo are the most overrrated team in the competition right now.
