Re: RTB's Presser today
Maybe he didn’t see their inaccurate kicking in the first half that kept us hopeful to ‘catch-up’

I expect those players to be fresh and play next week while we rest/ manage some others and leave them at home.
That’s my trying to be optimistic approach on these unusual choices.

With holding the ball it would be a more consistent result if the umps blew the whistle stopped play then tossed a coin , one team on each side of the coin.

Re: Time to sit back and relax
I have foxtel so l can watch all saints games live.
I am seriously considering taping them it is not stressful watching once it’s a done result.
Last night I went out and got home to watch the last 10 mins….great.

Re: saints interested in players already
Shoulda given up the 2nd rounder for Xerrie instead of Campbell couple of years ago.
Maybe looking a little further ahead if picking up a ruck.
My guess is if Stengel went anywhere I’d would be Carlton with Eddie betts

Can’t see him leaving Carlton to come to us. On one of the tv shows someone said “ Saints aren’t playing finals next year why would McCluggage go there?” Another show comment “ McKay has tightened up bombers backline and at the time of trade we questioned how much they were paying but has been worth...

I saw the odds also and wondered how we could be favourites. I know quite often we bitch and moan about previous trades and we do have to move on but:- 2019 draft pick 10 which we had Tom Green GWS Hill has been good for us but maybe now Green /Serong plus Acres plus our future 2nd would make our te...

Has anyone seen a report that says Crouch’s knee is stuffed? Might a long term injury / retire if the rumours are correct. Maybe he’s more missed than we thought

We don’t have the cattle generally our skills let us down.
This is where I thought we’d be last year but was hopeful of better, after having a good year last year I hoped we’d be better this year.
Almost all the experts tipped us here so maybe they were right

Re: What do North, West Coast, and Tasmania all have in common?
When Ross left us and went to Freo I said to the wife …. They will win a flag before us. Hasn’t happened yet but at the time they had a potentially better list than us.
The experts all had GWS and Gold Coast having 3 flags each by now

Re: King ...out of form or
Sometimes when judging a player I consider how they would go in an opposition team. How would he go at Collingwood? Probably ok. How about Geelong ? Replace Hawkins with king prob ok, vice versa would Hawkins improve us ? He’s not Carey or Roo but he’s a good player I don’t think our team play helps...

Could he play off half back ? I don’t like Bonner, too loose and his kicking let him down

Re: Saints NGA article: Sam Linder
The trouble with NGA kids is that we cannot match a bid until pick 40 so if these guys are guns they will go before then.
Northern states have no such restrictions.
We were lucky with Owens & Windy as they went after pick 20 which was the bar that year.

So B.M. did Ross have any input with the team /coach or just an over the fence observer?
Very Interesting.

After the knee concern last night does Roma miss next week ? Ross mentioned a couple of weeks ago that he will need a break at some stage, to me seems logical. That is not taking a win against NM as a given I expect it to be a battle, although if we are going to be any good this year, we need to bea...

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing
If he’s such a dud how is another team going to give us 2 first round picks?
Was it this time last year, that Nas was homesick and heading back to SA at seasons end?
I’d say if he hasn’t signed by say round 12 it’s looking more doubtful that he’s staying.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
I thought the umpire were shockingly inconsistent , it’s just that the 50/50 debatable frees Port seemed to get more paid their way.
I’d like to see the afl actually look at a full game and explain the holding the ball/ dropping the ball rule, I don’t think I’m that dumb but it’s got me buggared.

Personally I’d like to see King at chf, Membrey leading out of ff and Caminiti/Sharman playing 3rd tall.
Having said that I think the experts seem to say Collingwood’s small mobile forward line was a bit part to beating PA last week.

Re: AFL exposure for young players
I remember years ago hearing thati as part of how Sydney develop young players is to give them a taste early then put them back to the reserves .
They identify what area/s they need to improve and work with the development coaches then next opportunity they are more ready to go
