Poor bugger. Must sleep under a ladder guarded by a black cat and a broken mirror.
Yes, +1. He really deserves much better luck. He seems to have been a good team man and was working his way well into a new role for the benefit of the team.

Re: Number 12

Hmmm, thanks for that. Phil Stevens I remember well (he came from Geelong, I think) but none of those names that you found have given me that "oh yes, of course" feeling.

I guess I'm just getting a bit elderly. :(

Re: Number 12

Funny, if I had been asked to go to court and give sworn evidence, I would have said Gary Colling wore no.13. However, I have checked and, of course, you are right.

Now I need to know who actually did wear no.13 for quite a few games at about the same time that Gary Colling was playing? :? :?

Re: Is this the last week to replace a player on the LTI lis

Yep, it's interesting. I remember the coach saying last year that Jason H was very close to selection at the end of the season but they couldn't get him onto the main list. Unfortunately, I can't remember the reason why he couldn't be elevated - i.e. after a cut-off date or no LTI spot available. :?

News just in - Jimmy Webster out for at least 1 week.

I know it isn't quite a like-for-like replacement but would this be a chance to give Tom L a try?

Re: Lonie felled behind play?

Had a very clear view and there was nothing it apart from maybe an academy award. While you are right that the contact seemed to only be at about the shoulder, rather than directly to the head; it was pretty hard contact and it seemed to whip Lonie's head from side-to-side. So, it looked to me like...

Re: Crowley and Afl = joke

Another difference between this and the Saad case is that Saad had to stay right away from the club until the end of his suspension (some time in Jan or Feb this year) yet Crowley can train with the club after 24th July (even though he is suspended until 24th September). Has anybody seen some news/...

No for me. We have Delaney atm doing a good job stopping the opposition key fwd. We have Goddard in the 2's waiting for an opportunity and if you believe some on here Tom Lee as a tall 3rd backman. Carlisle would cost te earth to get and right now our immediate focus should be on line breaking midf...

Re: Team v Lions

No White or Saad at Sandy this week. Out of the seniors and not picked in the seconds. Not injured either. Anyone got any ideas. Surely not playing anywhere isn't helping their development. From Zebs twitter. There seems to have been a policy of resting at least 2 players each round or 2. Remember ...

Re: Saad - was it all PR?

In fairness, I think that you are applying a bit of hindsight in your analysis.

I don't think anybody would have expected Lonie and Sinclair to have performed so well, so early. Without those 2, then Saad looks like a good, cheap "depth" pickup.

New rule interpretation means that Saad returns to rookie list and Sinclair stays on main list.

Joey out Eli in. Acres must've slept with the coaches wife. Would have Acres ahead of Shenton and a mile ahead of Templeton Acres is a guy with a couple of games to his name and Shenton at least has age and a bit more experience. Eli for joey is probably a fair replacement. As much as Acres does de...

I always respected Leigh Fisher as a hard working player who gave our club 100% with whatever talent he had. He had rotten luck with injuries, but never complained, just got on with it. Personally, I wish the guy all the very best in his endeavours to retain being a part of the AFL code. His umpiri...

It almost seems that the club has formed the opinion that Beveridge is gone. Heard on the 3AW sports show last night that the club has decided to combine Bevo's role with parts (about 1/2) of Pelchen's old role and then appoint just one person. If that is the plan then Beveridge probably wouldn't be...
