Re: Phillipou Close to Signing
It's also about developing your talent. We've got an Irishman on our list who was arguably the best young Gaelic footballer in his country. We know he's talented and competitive. We know he's an athlete. What resources are we utilising to get this guy ready and to teach him AFL skills? Do we have a...

Re: AFL exposure for young players
The development side is equally as important as the recruitment and list management. If Ross Lyon truly loves St Kilda...then at the end of his tenure...wait for it... ... he should become coach of Sandringham 😳😳 Whenever that time comes -2027/2028 ??....and I'm certainly not suggesting he s...

Re: Lyon Press Conference Pre-R7 v Port
What I'd like to see is Steele, Windy and Owens start at the first bounce. I'd like to see more of Stocker in the middle too. Mix it up. Give Marshall an extended break in the forward line with Caminiti rucking for a full quarter...or try resting/managing Rowan at some stage in the next few weeks. W...

Re: Some good news.
I know he had a screw inserted with the original surgery, which then got removed about a month ago because the surgeon thought it was causing more harm than good. It has been giving him a lot of pain and he couldn't train. A screw normally means a fracture I can understand screws inserted in your j...

Re: AFL exposure for young players
I remember years ago hearing thati as part of how Sydney develop young players is to give them a taste early then put them back to the reserves . They identify what area/s they need to improve and work with the development coaches then next opportunity they are more ready to go I reckon that's a sm...

Tom Morris on channel 9 reporting that Harley Reid will be rested this week. Announcement tonight on 9 News Sport. Here's a guy ripping it up...BUT his coach and the club want what's best for the players development in the medium term and long term Learn St Kilda. There's a reason why West Coast hav...

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing
I remember when supporters said we should trade another player who was really struggling every week drop him trade him it really annoyed me at the time, but Ross persisted with him and he ended up being ok the player was pick #1 Brendan Goddard so it does take time. Give the kid a chance I know he ...

Re: Drafting 25
I just had a real wicked thought. Please forgive me... I'm a long suffering Saints supporter This would be highly unethical and breach not only all moral standards (but I'm certain) lots of current laws St kilda could pay some tall elite track and field athletes (Olympic Games times quality) for the...

Re: AFL exposure for young players
I edited my post as you were posting. I think we need to provide a taste to the 2022 draftees Collard barely opened the door to the restaurant before being turned back out the door. That’s correct. What’s the point of bringing in him as sub and he only gets a quarter of footy? Then he’s dropped and...

Re: Drafting 25
Geelong haven’t just stayed relevant through father son and the ‘lifestyle’ attraction for free agents. While Geelong was playing in about 11 of the last 13 finals series…St Kilda were collecting high end picks in the National draft including the number 3 pick in 2013. Number 1 pick in 2014 and half...

AFL exposure for young players
Damien Hardwick was on AFL 360 tonight and he spoke about the importance of giving them opportunities He said the VFL is a good competition but playing 2-3 games of AFL is probably like playing 15-20 of VFL He reckons it’s great education for youngsters to be playing senior games. Some of them might...

Re: Jack Steele and centre clearance
I just watched the replay of our game. One question. Why? I already explained it in my op. I go to the game to socialise and cheer and support the team but I also like to assess individual players. I don't always watch every game and I don't watch 120 minutes of our losses (that's for sure)

They are still comfortably the worse list and team in the league. Many, many years off being competitive.
We play them at Optus Stadium in Round 12
Barrass, McGovern, Kelly/Yeo, Darling and Allen...not a bad spine

Re: The Eagles
Our problem is that we went 12 years of poor performance without a major direction change. Years of poor "recruiting" (IMO was poor development more than recruiting), plus a ' top up' mentality during the Ratts era to scrape into finals was a huge mistake. Did you forget that Richo and Le...

Re: Jack Steele and centre clearance
He really needs some help in there too. Crouch has been out and Dow has yet to play. Mitch Owens attended centre bounces ONCE Only for the whole of the first half. Not as a mid. He was contesting the ruck against Sam Darcy Why haven't we tried the 2 best mates in the centre? Windy and Owens could b...

Re: Jack Steele and centre clearance
Seb had zero tackles in the first half of footy against the Dogs. He had only 2 contested possessions up until half time.
He was at the centre bounce 6 times. He got zero centre clearances. Also zero stoppage clearances

Re: Jack Steele and centre clearance
Jack Steele hasn’t been able to replicate his 2020-21 form, where he was a game winner. At this point he’s a very good workman with zero x-factor , unfortunately. He does what he's asked to do Who ever thinks of a tagger as having X factor? The current coach wanted him to be leaner. The current coa...
