Re: if it's true it is a disgrace
Who cares.. The club can decide to rest or ease the load of the players during the week. BOOOOM!! That's it. No excuses. If we have to play a team off a 6 day break, and it coincides with two interstate trips in a row then in all probabilities it will add a greater burden on some of our warhorses.....

Re: Round 17 Team
For all those questioning the reasoning for the selection committee leaving out Faz, have another look at the game from last week... Rays work rate is ok, second efforts, overhead marking, tackling and spread are also ok....but his disposal by both hand and foot is atrocious at times. That's why he'...

Re: What's an acceptable result vs Sydney?
If Saints are serious about September we must win!!! Damien Hardwick made a strange statement in round 5 or 6, when he said 'our season starts now.' At that point the Tiges had lost their 4th or 5th match and the coach was adamant that they were better than where their ladder position indicated. He ...

Re: 'Joey the key free agent'
The dilemna of having to rebuild while hanging on to your overpaid stars. My Solution...... players take a voluantary paycut in 2013...anywhere upwards of 10% for Rooy, Milney 20%, Gram 30%, etc. Any player who struggled to earn their keep or a player who feels like they underperformed in our finals...

Re: Watters on the "rat pack"
people have come on this forum complaining about people not going to saints games. take lenny and milne out of the team and expect 5.000 less every week. Even though we are in it to win the grand final only one team wins each year and supporters need a reason to watch their team that may not be cha...

Re: ladder predictor
Two of our wins stick out in my mind and I reckon if we play the way we did against Essendon and Carlton, we'll finish 6th. If we play like that we'll topple sides that most 'sperts' were'nt expecting us to beat in the run home to finals. If we play the way we did versus West Coast for the first hal...

Re: Rule change required?
Yeah....because the current system as you said "advantages other teams the following week(s)" The AFL added the rule that doubles your suspension during the GF, so wouldn't you think the next logical step is to sin bin or red card players that blatantly and intentionally injure their oppon...

Re: 100+ points record
We played in a Grand Final 5 years after '92 and 4 years after 2005....so...will it be 2016 or 2017 for our next GF appearance? Personally I feel this year is not finished, but we need all our stars in ripper form at the pointy end. We also need a hell of a lot going right for us and a hell of alot ...

Re: Goddard(not about trading him)
Good thread. With the team as it is now, I reckon play him midfield. I think he also thinks he's best suited as a mid. I agree that we need him for his ability to hit targets inside 50. Some of the delivery in recent weeks has been pretty average. With a quality tagger he might be struggling to get ...

Re: Rich: will he get weeks
You're having a lend, but don't just discount the impact that TV has on the masses. The AFL wants to be seen to be doing something regarding dangerous behaviour or rough conduct and the perception is just as important to the AFL as the actual penalties handed out. Anyway, it's not all 'TV'....it's m...

Re: Clint Jones just kick the goal...
I don't think he was matched up on Black for much more than a couple of stoppages. Black spent a lot of time head to head with Lenny and went forward a lot in the second half. I think Jones was matched more on Rich, but it didn't look like a hard tag. I think Scotty's moving us away from the hard t...

Channel 7 saying Roo could be in trouble. How'bout the Lions bloke repeatedly punching Roos wrist. Didn't Bakes cop 2 weeks for slappping Stevie J's hands/wrists? Bakes deserved what he got! He must've known that Stevie J had broken his hand on his (Bake's) jaw earlier in the game... On a related n...

Re: Big test next week Swans at SCG
Swans actually started better than us last time we played them, and we played catchup before taking control. When we played them last time, the jury was still out on the Saints, where as the Swans were already sitting top 4, and of coarse, they beat us the last two times before we played them for Le...

Yeah....fancy that...resting your superstars...I think if the Hawks had their time over they may be re-considering playing Franklin against GWS in the middl...

What's the point of coming in to tackle someone...when he's already being held up...Oh that's right - that would've counted as a tackle to Gramm.... if it wasn't paid too high.

Re: Match thread vs Brisbane
Goose catches Milney...if that doesn't tell you its time, nothing will serious? he's been the only forward looking consistently dangerous tonight, saad's four goals obviously notwithstanding. where else can he play? put gramm or dal or Jack in the forward line or put Lenny there and the output goal...
