Re: Saints or SINNERS?

Fairy tales? That jibe is a bit rich, considering that 'scientific' atheists are actually proposing a theory, that by its very nature, can never (ever) be proven. And science, the supposed reason 'we don't need a God' has yet to come even marginally close to ruling out the possibility of a God. And...

Re: New kick-in rule.

"At kick-ins, a player will no longer need to kick to himself to play on from the goalsquare. Absolutely disgraceful rule change, that. The goal-square is now obsolete. No need for a goal-square, anymore. If this is the rule that they want to bring in, then get rid of the bloody goal-square, t...

Re: Saints or SINNERS?

God will bring justice to St.Kilda F.C in the form of a dagger named 'Serpent's Claw.' To drink from the premiership cup is to taste eternal life, friends. We need a cutting edge. St.Kilda has been systematically bled by all the other clubs from day one. The lion's share of the greatness that has gr...

Saints or SINNERS?

ST.kilda F.C. is the home of the devil. AND by the devil I mean Satan. Lucifer, the anti-christ, God's alter-ego, the one He has all the fun with. We are a fun club, aren't we? The fairy-tale club. The special club, made especially by the God who rules over all things such as football, the history o...

Re: Jack Steven contract

There are only two options here Jack wants to stay - he stays Jack wants to go - we get a top 5 pick guaranteed. The end. Exactly. It looks like a win/win to me. We either get to keep a quality player, or we get a top 5 pick. The issue is, are we, when it comes to premiership windows, better off ke...

Re: McCartin

I just read this entire post, and i think the main argument people were making against McCartin (and in favour of Petracca) was that, more or less, petracca is a better individual player than McCartin (i.e, more likely to win a brownlow). But I think (at least, I hope) that even those who vehemently...

Re: Captaincy ? Nick- Article

No contest for 2015. Depending on his injury situation, it could be a worthwhile consideration for Nick to give the Captaincy to someone else in 2016 and be there to support the new guy for his first year - both on and off-field. He would be a great mentor in that role. Dunstan seems the obvious on...

Re: Captaincy ? Nick- Article

Undoubtedly nick the best man for the job in 2015 and probably 2016 as well. The really interesting question is, who replaces nick in 2017/18??? Dunstan? Steven? Co-captains maybe or rotating system till the best captain naturally emerges? Wonder what Richo reckons... Dumpster and Gilbert would be r...

McCartin will lift young group to new levels

....even though he himself isn't expected to have much of an impact for a few years, the immediate benefits we'll see from having him at the club, imo, (and this is where the genius of selecting him at pick one lies) is that his presence - the presence of a dominant forward, as opposed to the presen...

Re: What's our gameplan?

The gameplan is fundamentally built on team defence, the style of footy that first sydney in 2005 then ross lyon with us in 2009 then collingwood and so on down the list all implemented succesfully. It's no surprise that we've chosen a gameplan built on defense because apparently Richo allowed the p...

Re: When does rock bottom hit?

2014 is the equivalent of 2000.

2015 will be the equivalent of 2001.

We'll start the long climb back up the ladder in 2016 (2002).

2017 will be a year of marked improvement (2003)

2018 the window opens (2014)

Re: 1st round picks this draft

I think we will see another controversial trade to net another first round draft pick this season. Montagna has been linked to Essendon. I wouldn't be surprised if Hawthorn, Fremantle, Sydney would be interested given they are 'challenging' right now. All of those sides will have late first round p...

2015 draft + my take on our plight

For me, this all started in 2012 when we played north melbourne at etihad stadium. North came out and played the physical aggressors in the first half, a trait that spilled over to their fans as I and a thousand others watched on the top tier as a north supporter bashed a stkilda supporter, kids wat...

Re: Round 7 Team v Hawthorn

Bruce ommited is not a blight on his performance. On saints selection insider they said it was purely about giving simpkin an oppurtunity after a consistent patch of strong form in the vfl filling that role for the team. And good luck to simpkin, i say. There is room for he and bruce both in the st....

We're currently 3-2. Need 13 wins to make finals. Let's take an optimistic view of the remainder of the season: vs. Brisbane - Wellington. Win. 4-2 Hawthorn - MCG. Lose. 4-3 Carlton - Etihad. Win. 5-3 Gold Coast - Etihad. Win. 6-3 Collingwood - Etihad. Lose. 6-4 Port - Away. Lose. 6-5 Geelong - Shel...
