Re: Channel 7 News
Look at who Essendon has played so far this season and their winning margins (including against us) Yes, they beat GWS but when GWS was in a slump And they drew with Collingwood whose form is equally as problematic as is Essendon’s Then look at their losses, the size of those losses and who the los...

"As far from a flag as anyone in the league"
Cheapshot Cornes and Matthew "Mensa" Lloyd have now got us as far from a flag as any club in the league. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un1D8GMyLX4 Personally, considering our tough draw, injury list and close losses, I would ahve thought a couple of weeks ago that we could get back into ...

Re: Bassat has a lot to answer for
RTB has the runs on the board. Second most successful Saints coach. Most successful ever Freo coach. To ignore these indisputable facts is crazy. You can argue that he hasn't got the same spark this time around or the same intimidation factor. I certainly think the players should be performing bette...

Re: President needs a new letter
The absolute worst time to be at the bottom of the ladder, GCS have 9 accademy players to pick next season...and that's just the GC, GWS, Sydney, and Brisbane got the same perk. And that's even before Tasmania come in. We don't stand a chance. Don't be a moron and blame the coach....the wrong targe...

Re: No injuries - No excuses
Anyone else been waiting patiently for the line-in-the-sand game?
The game where every player comes out exploding with determination and intensity?
Every week I think this is gonna be the one ...
And every week it's flat, spiritless, dumb footy ...

Re: Match Day Demons v Saints
A few weeks ago the club released a video highlighting the work of the High Performance Team.
Their role needs a serious assessment because there's no team in the league that looks as flat as we do, especially in first quarters.

Re: Bonner to Hill, Freo goal
Those insisting Hill wasn't at fault -- or at least the junior partner in this stuff-up -- might be right, as it's difficult to know for sure if anyone of Hill#s height could have marked Bonner's kick. Nevertheless, Hill has form in this area -- not straining bhimself if the delivery isn't centimetr...

Bonner to Hill, Freo goal
Seconds after Saints fans experienced a brief moment of satisfaction when Marshall's Herculean effort to touch the ball as it crossed the goal line was rewarded with a cancelled goal, Bonner took the kickout and Hill failed to mark, resulting in an easy Freo goal. I've said previously that both Bonn...

Re: Sack Lyon
Put a fork in him, hes done. Taken a middle team and turned them into a bottom 4 side that cant score. For reference Geelong without a bunch of their best players go to Darwin, get flogged by 60+ points and still manage to kick 100 themselves. At least their supporters have some goals to cheer. We ...

Re: Cold Hard Facts
Saturday night represents our first match of the season with a home-ground advantage. We've also played interstate four times (I'if you include Gather Round). Also a game at the Cattery. Compare to Collingwood. Six games with home-ground advantage (if you include games against Marvel tenants). Three...

Devils advocate point of view. You reap what you sow …right? Why treat the kid like he’s a star in 2023. He wasn’t the second coming. He wasn’t Chris Judd and he certainly wasn’t the Bont What am I talking about? The bleeding obvious of course. As soon as he had 2 or 3 bad games in 2023 he needed t...

Zac is the perfect sub.
Crashes around like a wasp in a bottle for fifteen minutes. Coule be just wjhat we need in a tense last quarter.
And if by chance he has to come on early, well, he's experienced.

Re: win banked and move on
We also need to be seen as an attractive option for free agents on the move. Draft picks are not the only option. Are we aiming for top 4 in 2025? Are we flag contenders in 2026? Why not? If we can beat the Pies at the MCG and come close to knocking off both Geelong and GWS away, why not? With a mo...

Is Membrey untouchable? Clearly past his best.
Phillipou a mile off younger players Wilson and Harley Reid.
Clearance player Owens being wasted as a forward --- why?
Bonner, Webster and Hiill can all be relied upon to turn it over at least once a game.
Wood and Hayes suprisingly good.

The scintillating wisdom from our pundit class this week went something like this:
"Geelong and GWS are the best teams in it ... North and Hawthorn are really struggling."
Grown men get paid hundred of thousands for insights like this.

Re: Comparing our Outs to other teams
As well as these significant outs, a proper analysis of our season so far would note the punishing, not to say bizarre, draw we've endured. I'm not even talking about the interstate travel and the five-day breaks. I'm talking the total absence of any home-ground advantage. After "hosting" ...

Re: Higgins Alir incident
Would have thought Higgo's history of head imjuries would make him the last bloke to want to inflict cerebral damage.
Michael Christian however was knocked senseless by Danny Frawley twice (once in the Nicky Wimnar jumper game) and, notwithstanding that, seems to possess a long memory.

Don't agree with the OP but I do know then when King was lining up for goal I thought, "There's no way this is going through." King's body language was part of that.
