Re: Changes for next week
Sinclair for Minch and Roberton for Armo with Gilbert moving into the mid field. Unlikely to make too many changes. On the replay Lonie appeared to be involved far more than his stats give him credit for. Minch may benefit from a VFL run for a couple of weeks.

Re: Top 8
Question raised with Gerard W on 774 yesterday. 'Are the Saints the best team outside the 8?' His response was he considered Port ahead of us and that they may be the only other team that could move into the 8. Even so, it is good that we are considered so highly or even being discussed in those ter...

Re: Jeff Gartlett
I think it matters more if the error in spelling was a mistake and not just a typo. If its a typo then its probably excusable. But, I think a deliberate misspelling should nullify any actual football content of the comment and make void the rationale of the commentator. For arguements sake and argu...

Re: We will never be top 4 without at least 2 more elite mid
I don't think it was really a lack of skilled mids. They had taller, athletic, well drilled players who had a good system at marking contests. About 5 times I mistook Newnes for Lonie because he seemed so much shorter than his opposition. GWS were very good, and when they turned it on in the last th...

Gone from two to five of us with reserved seat membership on level two this year. Unfortuntely had to move inside the 50m line to make the change. (3 adults, 2kids)
Have found the Network in Southern Cross has been good for before an after, although few other Sainters seem to think the same.

Re: Best 22 for Round 1
I seem to remember back in the days of finals in '09 and '10 we had a more obvious bottom six. The players being listed above show how competitive making this year's team seems to be. I wonder how our best 22 would look if lined up (on paper) with the teams of that time?

To give them credit, they did a good job last year with all the signings. Something new on the site each day is effective marketing.

Sanderson and Twomey on the Afl site have a broadcast of a phantom draft with us taking Mitch Hibberd at 18. Listened to it yesterday but didn't record all their selections.

Re: Daniel McKenzie and others under the radar
Watched the Bulldog game last night, the great come back, and what stood out apart from Billings' final quarter was McKenzie. His first quarter he was a bit pressured and coughed it up a couple of times but after that he had a blinder. His contested work on the wing in the 2nd and 4th quarters was ...

Went twice and both times wete great. Wellington got behind the idea and were welcoming, particularly the first year. I look forward to maybe going back to see the Saints in Auckland?

Re: Pick 14
Someone with an old fashion / biblical name seems to be the best bet for us. There is a Daniel, a Charlie and a Harry on the list above. Of course we couldn't go wrong with another Jack. (there must be some in the draft) There is a Wayne also listed but that name was mentioned in an article about bo...

My partner describes culture as 'how we do things around here'. He has to learn our Club's culture is certainly different to what he has come from.

Agree. He doesn't pass the character test. Not to worried about the draft picks but would expect the AFL may come to the party. The Recruit wrote:If no trade is official until 2pm Thursday Jake is done at the saints.

Re: Carlisle "scandal"
I feel the club is badly damaged by this. It will impact our sponsors and supporters, therefore our financial position. Our reputation is diminished and to pay someone that sort of money the expected leadership qualities should be shining out. Instead we get a player of the type we have been trying ...

Re: Diordo
Diodoro contradicts his position when he talks of the Brisbane deal and Brisbane letting go as Leu.. wants to go to Essendon. Can't he see his behavior not to give a bit to allow the trade to the Saints (because he wants to) is the opposite of his approach in commending Brisbane. Wouldn't it be good...

Re: 2016 team. Finals?
Even 100% fit? Whos the gap? Savage. Gilbert, Lonie, Sinclair, Freeman, Membery/McCartin, McKenzie, Weller. Some will make it and some wont. Most aren't close to be ready for finals next season and then the year after we lose 2 or 3 experienced players so even if a few come through they only replac...

We could probably get our own Rioli with pick 5. Did well in the relative vertical jump (he does have classy relatives), 20m sprints, 30m repeat sprints, 3k and clean hands test.

An hr person told me once never to employ someone who speaks badly of their previous employer as they will soon be doing that about you. Also, I wonder if Carlisle came to the Saints would he ever smile. A pretty unhappy looking chappie in the www search for info.
