BTW, continued from my earlier post.... I can see Armitage having a ripper season and booting off to the GC. Uncontracted (as far as i know) and obviously from QLD. I reckon the GC will have a lot of trouble convincing established players like Ablett and such to move and thus will need to throw the...

The fact the topic is now into a 3rd page suggests people aren’t in fact over talking about Luke Ball. However, IMO, they should be. There was a lot to talk about it in Trade Week, and then in the lead up to the Draft and then the Draft itself. And fair enough; we all wanted to know what it was al...

From the moment Tommy Walsh appeared on the radar last year he has caused wild excitement. For most of us we'll have to wait for open training, practice matches or NAB Cup games to make a firsthand assessment of his potential. Until that time we'll have to make do with YouTube vision of him playing ...

I know a lot of people over the years have had a go at Howard who has now left the Saints after a stint on the senior list and another as a rookie. Unfortunately in the end he simply didn’t have sufficient talent to make the grade. However that’s not his fault and he shouldn’t be bagged for it...

The more you hear about all this the more you can't help thinking that Luke made up his mind mid year, at the time he was dropped and offered a reduced contract, and was simply off as soon as the GF was out of the way. yep sounds like this was hatched long ago - which says a lot about character IMO...

Re: No need to worry, Emma.

As to the second, I only hope the "obsession with youth" doesn't end any time soon. As far as I can see, there are 3 clubs adequately valuing mature players - Sydney (won them a flag), ourselves, and Brisbane's joined the game. It's where the bargains are, so I have no trouble with what w...

We forget how good Geary is going to be in 2010. Gwilt has one more year to do something... he can be a great player if he gets some balls!! Lynch will take him over this year I feel. Agree re Geary. Considering his form early on in 2009 in the Seniors, together with his great form for Sandy later ...

Been a big fan of Armo since he arrived. Have got excited the last couple of years thinking this could be it. Alas it hasn't happened thus far. I hope like hell this is his break out season. If it is it will be an enormous plus for the team. Go Dave :)

Well, let's see what Ross and Leigh Tudor come up with. To be honest they didn't do a lot wrong last season and with just a bit of luck and perhaps some poise under pressure (kicking) we'd have been celebrating a flag . Our 3 short forwards became a problem for us against the stronger/ taller Cat d...

Said Ball was averaging 82 minutes and Hayes 87 minutes up to the time Ball was dropped to Sandringham. Also said Ball was offered a three year contact at $350,000plus per year. Then why the ***** did he want out? It's a strange one. Luke has only said that he was stale after 7 years and needed a f...

Thought Ross was great with his explanation of draft picks & Luke Ball. Obviously there were some issues with Luke otherwise the Saints wouldn't have dropped him & offered him a reduced contract & Luke wouldn't have wanted to leave. However Ross answered as best he could without revealin...

Maybe Gerard can ask him what he sees in Raph Clarke, and how he preferred him over Max. Maybe ask him why he chose to get rid of Matt Maguire only to pick up Jesse Smith who is probably less likely to play again due to on-going injury concerns. Also, maybe ask him why he treated Luke Ball the way ...

It's all a bit of a raffle anyway when it comes to drafting.. We recently delisted a former No.27 draft pick, not one the recruiter would ever hang his hat on.... Some seem to be making the assumption that all the TAC kids that get drafted make the grade.....that is not so...whatever number draft pi...

It's all well and good to go on about loading up on kids. However if this was a weak draft, and it was almost universally accepted that it was, and if our first pick isn't til 32, then you just don't go and get kids for the sake of it. What's the point if you're just going to delist them 2 years dow...

This is a response I just posted to Paul Gough's crap article on Sportal: "Disgraceful article Paul! You state that Ross Lyon said that any player who could not give total commitment to the club should let him know and they would be moved on. You then say the Saints failed to do so. I was not p...

Luke may well have legitimate reasons for leaving however he, along with Connors, has chosen not to make these known at this point in time. Fair enough, that’s his choice to make. However in the absence of an official explanation I will exercise my right to say Good Riddance.

I have to agree with Mr Magic and Spinner. It's all well and good to make Paul Connors the target of our anger but it was Luke and Luke alone who made the final decision to leave our football club.
