Alistair Smith has plenty of potential , but will not be a surprise inclusion in round 1. Yes but the thread is in relation to NAB Cup and if people are prepared to nominate Hutchings, a 1st year Rookie, then I don't see Alistair Smith, a 2nd year senior list player, as such a far fetched nominatio...

We now have confirmed present:

Girl, Gram, Lovett and Tractor?

Odd lot....we just held hands in my day.......

In game one I would think Johnson, Stanley, Heyne, Simpkin, Hutchings, Smith. Maybe also Walsh, Winmar, Miles Smith will be kept back as a surprise inclusion for round 1. Thanks jabber. That's if he can run by then. he's got to walk first Well the other Smith, Alistair, can walk & run and may p...

It's an obligatory statement by the AFLPA. It has to make some kind of statement because pretty soon the shite is going to hit the fan. If what I've heard from a few people is correct, then things are going to get particularly unpleasant for A.Lovett in the next few weeks. The AFLPA will be treadin...

With all this talk about Luke Ball I’m just trying to get my own thoughts in check. People on this site have various opinions on him as do all saints supporters. To some he remains a champ who has been treated poorly; to others he’s an over-rated player who has stuck it to the club. Many others ...

Drain appears in the media a fair bit and he comes across as if he wants to be a wheeler-dealer in the player market in the manner of a UK Football manager. There have been enough blunders at the list management level in the last few years that I'm really starting to have my doubts about Drain. I d...

Thanks for the report. Steven in the forward group. IIRC when recruited the write-up at the time when comparing him to an existing AFL player compared him to Chapman. IIRC he was compared to another cat, Jimmy Bartel. Would be happy if he ended up as good as either of them TBH but I see a bit more ...

Club has stated that getting Walsh meant that pick 16 wasn't as important because they believe they have the equivalents of a 1st rounder in Tommy. Who said this exactly? I've read it several times on here and I reckon it is one of the oddest comments I've ever seen. Yes it was a strange statement....

I haven’t watched the replay and probably never will so my memory is a bit hazy. However from what I can recall we were right in the GF til close to the end and if we had kicked straight may have held on. Ball had shown nothing over the last few seasons to suggest he was going to help us in the go...

yep. i mean people on here can comment on whether we erred for sure. i was just saying to the OP that the club itself cant comment in official media statements cos they could undermine/be seen as prejudicial and get em sued or even cop something criminal on themselves. so they have to stay mum. but...

Heyne can use his body cleverly and is a handy mark. He definitely has the abillity make something out of nothing. Is anyone old enough to remember Gary Lofts? I see a lot of him in Nick Heyne. I agree though, for him to make it, it will come down to application on the track. . I certainly remember...

From what i have seen of them at training last year and what the coaches are saying, but this is still very difficult to do as they may have developed since then. But in my mind: 1- Armitage (Will be in our best 22 next year, take balls spot) 2 - Steven (Been given #3 so thats gotta tell you someth...

well from what i can tell Stanley is the next big thing Winmar we only drafted because of his name every other youngster is set to take Luke Balls spot Don't forget young Tommy Walsh. Never in the history of the game has an Irish rookie won the NAB rising start, Brownlow and Norm Smith in his debut...

No replacements. The next player must be better, until we win the premiership. Each player has a different name, and has the ability to create their own history. While I understand the rationale of the OP, If one player simply replaces another, there will be no progress. Sure I'm playing semantics,...
