Here are the link to the AGE article; http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/lovett-takes-fight-with-saints-to-grievance-tribunal-20100211-nv3a.html The Herald-Sun article seems to have vanished !! Just fleshing out yesterday's article really. Yes, there seems to be a liberal smattering of exciting ...

Like many others on this site I have followed the Saints for a long time. Long enough to remember going to the footy each week when out team was crap, and losing, often by a huge margin, was a regular occurrence. We have become almost spoilt in recent years with regular finals appearances, albeit wi...

This gets interesting. If Jack Rush and his panel rules that Lovett must train and must play irrespective of the investigation then it will happen, whether the club or AFL likes it or not. Where do you think he'd be training and playing?... if the club has decided, it would not be in Saints colours...

Yes, some mixed messages there. Ross stated that it was up to Peake to stand up, which basically says AL will never play for us. Yet the club is monitoring his training; which suggests otherwise. Are they just going through the motions and meeting their contractual obligations? I think it's a case ...

Back on topic, in this instance, I SUPPORT THE CLUB, COACH and CAPTAIN. I'm not sure how a thread on declaring my support for the Club, Coach and Captain got hijacked into a pyssing contest about whether rodgerfox is a troll or not? And quite frankly I couln't care less if he is/isn't. What he/she ...

I understand why the Fox gets up people's noses, but fact is there's no rule saying he can't, just as there's no rule saying that fish have to nibble the worm.

Exactly. If you don't agree with him, just ignore him!

Re: I went down to the Riva

He referred to the changes in personnel at the club, and obliquely referred to Lovett by mentioning they had tried to boost midfield pace with a short term solution that hadn't worked, and would now look to Peake and others to step up. If it wasn't already in any doubt then this confirms it, Lovett...

Great to see he's bulked up, but has he worked on his two main problems - pace and endurance? I think his 2 main problems are the defensive side of his game and disposal. No problems with the other 2 IMO. I don't mind the defensive side of his game, he's a fine tackler. His disposal isn't NDS-esq b...

Yeh, we used to have them in our back yard, now with development all around us we barely ever see them any more. I used to love their raucus good humour. I have them around my home just before there is rain coming....... but seeing we haven't had rain for 75 days in Perth, no Carnabys causing a rac...

Dear God, make it stop! Of course RL has some input into it - all coaches do. It's the extent of the input that GT had that caused concern for some people. You really do stretch things beyond belief  The extent of it? What does that mean? Sounds like Lyon has a fair bit of input, based on wha...

Re: Hypothetical

[quote="meher baba"][quote="GrumpyOne"]Let’s say a club, we’ll call them West Sydney, is trying to import some skill into their side. There is a player, out of contract with Gold Coast, who would fit the bill perfectly. The problem is that whilst he is a Wiz on the field, off...

RL is coach and the Saints got to the GF therefore he got us there. MT is coach and the Cats got to the GF therefore he got them there. End of story. So you don't rate recruitment, list management, fitness, injury management etc. either? You think in the end, the coach, ahead of the players and all...

Did we make the GF? Yes. Was RL coach? Yes. On that basis RL got us to the GF, just as Mark Thompson got Geelong to the GF. It's really quite simply and shouldn't take 13 pages  Mark Thompson didn't get Geelong to a GF. He played a role in them getting to GF, but in modern footy depts he pla...

All I can say is that RL gave us a better shot at winning a flag than GT on the basis that we made the GF under RL.
