Who is on the injury list at the moment Collard?? Haven’t seen him at training for a fortnight Crouch - still running laps Clark - Concussion Dow - Knee Butler - Ankle Hayes - Knee Van Es - Ankle Paton - Pec Sincs ???? Any others? Starting to mount up unfortunately. And practice matches haven’t eve...

Re: Injury update
All three were all excellent. Paton had a couple of major leg bones broken. Hayes was found out by the difference between SANFL and AFL. If we got him earlier could have been a world beater. McKenzie was in AA form before head planting off Rich and then his chronic leg muscle problems surfaced. All...

Re: Injury update
".....an average performer like Paton and Hayes or McKenzie" a bit harsh given the fact that, apart from injury, at least 2 out of the three would be PERMANENT members of our best 22, in my opinion!!!! Definitely a matter of opinion. McKenzie was a goer but in a strong team not necessaril...

Re: Injury update
And BM you posted or replied to my posts and I’m certain you didn’t even read what I wrote. I said that anyone with any longevity in the game will suffer bad injuries. Roo and Lenny no exceptions. But apart from a chronic knee which Roo handled superbly and Lenny suffering a couple of ACL’s and othe...

Re: Injury update
Lyon is the best coach in the AFL? Who thinks that?! He’s won zero premierships in 13 years of coaching which is almost a record Clarkson, Hardwick, McCrae and C Scott would easily be the best 3 coaches in the AFL Arguably Beveridge Longmire and Simpson next having succeeded Hinkley, Lyon and Fagan...

Re: Injury update
All I know is that if you follow, Petracca on social media or pendles or read Joel Selwoods book or Roo’s, you realise that some blokes will do anything to avoid injury. Some bloke’s think they do. It’s always a balancing act though, balanced against who they are and what they have achieved in the g...

Re: Injury update
Yep they do - hence the bad luck Hunter Clark has suffered some significant injuries - that’s footy You’re actually lucky if you don’t get injured Ben Paton Leg Broken getting tackled - unlucky Pec ligament torn while tackling - unlucky Nothing to do with the way he plays, his conditioning or physi...

Re: Training Reports
Thanks BM, tough to pick a side! Watched the first qtr of the GWS final today and I'd struggle to leave out both Caminiti and Sharman. I watched first half last night. Whilst Sharman did some great things, I’m not convinced on the defensive side of his game. Having not seen a second of pre season I...

Re: Training Reports
Jones may be the anti-Pendlebury. Pendlebury is so durable, not fast but clever, good hands and positioning, composed, rarely fumbles, puts the ball to advantage. Unfortunately is a Pie. I see Jones as all sizzle, no steak. Bought at a time when we were all over the place floundering for top end ta...

Re: Training Reports
Most over rated player on our list now that Billings and Gresh have left. Sprays it left right and centre. Will play one good game every four and then get injured. Just can't rely on him to be healthy, and when he did get healthy, I recall Ratts being very critical of hime because he just couldn't g...

Re: “Get up, get up. We don’t f***ing do that here”
Ironically it was Ross's dictatorship style that turned the playing group against him at Freo. Captain's picks rarely work and are generally associated with an antiquated and dictatorship style of management from a bygone era. Once the gloss wears off and the honeymoon period is over is when the di...

I’m comfortable with what the club’s doing. No point hedging your bets or half backing the coach

Re: Sons of Guns
I look at the pies F/sons with envy. Two Daicos brothers (1st and 2nd in B&F) and the AA CHB and captain of their club. Their opponents on GF day have two (potential) midfield guns. Bulldogs had Libba in their flag. Tom Mitchell was at Swans. Cats had Scarlett Hawkins Ablett. Over time it feels ...

Re: Simon Lethlean finished at St. Kilda effective immediately?
This screams of another one shown the door because he dared to disagree with Ross the boss. I know I am in the minority but I really don't like Ross Lyon and cannot understand why he is touted as some kind of supercoach. He has only had success, moderate success at that, when he has been handed A-g...

Here’s a question. How many times since 2001 have premiership teams not had any father sons?

Thanks for the review Saintmike. It’s very much appreciated. Do you know if they are training Monday? If so would it be worth going to watch or are they pretty much done for the year?

Re: Training - Monday December 11
I agree Big Max, but who do you drop for the ruck backup? I think it has to be the CHF position (Membrey/Sharman). I also think Henry misses out on a bench spot in place of Membrey/Sharman who rotates through with the ruck relief to allow Marshall to spend time on the bench. I agree too. I don’t ag...

Re: Lance Collard
If you are trying to convince me that Billings and Gresham didn’t play any good footy for StK - you’re wasting your time Both, when injury free, were very good players I never said they didn't play ANY good footy at the Saints. Why would you think I said that? But both of them had big limitations w...

Re: Lance Collard
Better than Gresham and Billings? Both will end up 200 game AFL players Collard is 65 kilos and hasn’t played a game yet I think Cyril Rioli played 180 odd games and he was better than both those players, by a very long margin. And I'm not sure either of those two former Saints will end up 200 game...

Re: SEN listeners don’t rate us 📻
Those with a good memory will remember after the 08 finals series that everyone predicted that we would slide down the ladder. We finished top 4 by smashing the bombers reserves team by over 100 points in the last game of the H&A season to win either 13 or 14 games. It was a very average group o...

Re: It is off season
If he’s so poor Why did Melbourne pick him up Don’t convince yourself of a false notion to justify a list management decision that is absurd Hang on! Which one is it? Is it a poor decision by the Saints to offload a contracted player for a future 3rd rounder AND paying half his wage? If it is, the ...
