Re: Vale, Darryl Cowie

Was a great player in our not so great period. Brought some joy to those cold days at Moorabbin.

Had a really long torp, he looked like he was trying to kick longer than Jeff Fehring at times.

His glass blowing skill is exceptional.

Thanks for the memories and RIP Darryl Cowie.

Re: SAM MITCHELL!

He'd be an excellent choice.

Mitchell is a win at all costs person, doesn't worry about niceties, being polite, or crushing feelings, just wants to win.

It's what we need.

Re: AFL Lets its Favourite Lovechild Off the Hook, Again!

Remind me, what was the outcome when a young Stewart Loewe shook the goal post, in similar circumstances, in the late '80s? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall him being suspended for a week. What year was that? I reckon it may have been in 1986 (Stewie's rookie year). I'm glad you posted...

Jaxons wrote that Haynes WILL be at St Kilda next year. No ifs or buts. Some clarification would be appreciated. That is all. Pav, you're normally pretty balanced, Jaxons' comment was: "Ok will tell you now Nick Haynes likely to be with us next year." Things may or may not have changed, H...

Re: Jaxons come on down (2017/18 thread)

Again, what is Jaxon's position or job title? Not asking for a name. Its probably the 7th time I've asked on here but I just get donuts each time. Otherwise, its all just BS and its probably someone that just reads news articles and is playing people for a fool. "It’s not what you are undernea...

No reflection on Jaxons at all. Shows how fluid this time of year is. Win some lose some. The Bombers were forced to up their offer.

All good for us, no downside at all... we move on wards and upwards.

Paddy's Underarm Patch

Hopefully somebody on here knows, I've been wondering about the patch Paddy has had under his arm for the past few games. Is it a glucose measuring device, similar to the one described in the following article? http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/new-device-for-diabetes-eliminate...

Re: Tom Lynch it still hurts

Well Lyon isn't renown for bringing young talent through. There was talk that at St Kilda he had very little to do with players outside his top 25. But you don't know what Lynch's situation was - did he feel neglected, I don't think we had a great development environment for young players. But mayb...

Re: Tom Lynch, the one that got away

Rossy had his favourites in those days.
Tom Lynch wasn't playing brilliantly, but he said Ross only spoke to him 3 times when he was at the club. He felt it was time for a clean break even though Ross had gone.
It has worked out well for both parties.

Re: Jack Billings mentioned in Carlile trade

For once the Saints are in the driving seat. Carlile wants to move on so Essendon have to make a deal happen.

For once the Saints can sit back and say, "No"....."No"

I don't see Carlile being the great hope for the Saints future.

Funny, if I had been asked to go to court and give sworn evidence, I would have said Gary Colling wore no.13. However, I have checked and, of course, you are right. Now I need to know who actually did wear no.13 for quite a few games at about the same time that Gary Colling was playing? :? :? Robbi...

Re: Russell's Top 25 Saints

Just on how comparable players from different eras might, or might not, be - I reckon you can only compare them with their peers of the time, and if they rank highly in their time, use that comparison to decide where they fit in our history (as subjective as that may be). I've read people comparing...

I lost a dear mate the same way in the early 8o's. The only blessing from Steve Wearne's tragic death was that helmets became compulsory in many grades of cricket.

No conviction. Con, can she now sue him through a civil action? She already did, and settled, years ago. Which adds to the stupidity of this whole situation. Seems like a sensible sentence from the judge, and hopefully we will never have to read of this again in the media. Thanks Legendary, I'd for...

Re: St.Kilda Characters since 1970

Jeff Sarau gave plenty of entertainment. There is some great footage of pup and Mike Fitspatrick having a nice little punch up with an umpire (was it Kevin Smith?) in between them. For maximum dickheadidity (I like making up new words for emphasis) Mark Jackson was entertaining in his brief Saintly ...
