Re: Dermie Suggesting Senior Players Running Club

I said similar last year. Roo and Joey IMO, gave the club a "him or me" stance with Watters. They acted on that, and there is no coming back from it.... Ross gave the seniors too much love, Scott not enough, now Richo probably too much again. What's irrelevant though, is derms motive, cle...

Re: Where does the Viney decision leave us?

I think I am immune to incorrect decisions by the AFL Tribunal. This one doesn't bother me in the least. Schneider got a week for winding someone a couple of weeks ago. Now I know it was made worse by a bad record, but my argument is that it should not have been even viewed by the match review panel...

Re: Forum Makeover - TOPIC RE-OPENED FOR REVIEW

Still no 'response' from the owner? Surely they could pop in and give us an update if they love the site so much and cannot bear to part with any control of it....?? I read that they are residing overseas. He/she does know that you can access the site from anywhere in the world right? Internet is gl...

Re: Match Thread: Saints v Bombers

Tipped this win. Bombers coming back from Perth and missing BJ, they were always going to struggle and their suspect forward line was exposed. BJ seems to 'be' Essendon at the moment. Face of the club and their MOST important player. Can't see them winning against any of the top teams if he does not...

Re: No one likes losing but,

Couldn't agree more with 3rd Generation Saint and the other comments on this topic, very happy with the progress and direction of the club over the last 6 months. However, while I'm at it I want to give Dermott Brereton a spray; great footballer he is nothing more than a media flog thesedays. He to...

Re: No one likes losing but,

That game bites. It really bites. I expected us to win this (and tipped us to) and we lost a game that should have been ours. I don't view it was an honourable loss. I feel it was a chance we let slip by. Blast!!! Still frustrated about it this morning...... I know we have some young kids and I do s...

Re: message to 17 AFL Teams

Did anyone actually think that we would be wooden spooners? Seriously, anyone...? Have had a really good feeling about this year after attending the meeting with the Saints board and execs shortly after Watters was sacked and believe that their time frame for a flag is not ridiculous and has me exc...

What power? What power could be possibly gained by owning the name of this joint?. Faaark me. Does go to show that whoever does ahem.... Own it, couldn't give a crap about it. Re: New CEO

Anderson was interim CEO of cycling Australia and this is to finish this month.

Excellent appointment if true. Good relationship with the AFL and knows the inner workings of the AFL. Couldn't ask for a better CEO!!!!!!

Top marks Saints if true.

Re: How about this for an idea?

I am actually surprised with the media to be honest. I expected a hell of a lot worse than what we have received so far. The only really scathing attack was from Brereton and I was chuckling to myself when I listened to it. Nothing more or less than you would expect from a loyal friend. My favourite...

Yep. It seems so. I thought he may have 'just' hung on for another 12 months, but not to be.

I'd have him for sure.
Finally, we agree on something. I think he would make an excellent coach.

Bugger, this is hard.

Mark, I am sorry.

Your treatment of Caro and Patrick was still poor. Perhaps you should try apologising to them also. It can be cathartic.....LOL

No, heard it from people connected with the club...multiple people Have you heard this directly from a player that was involved in hiring the dwarves? I am sick of hearing 'someone associated with the club' and 'multiple' sources. Seriously, there is that much rumour and innuendo going on, who woul...

Not overly upset or surprised. Surely any one listening or reading the media in the last couple of months could not be surprised by this? Unfortunately, once Caro started writing about I knew he was in trouble and if he did manage to hang on, it would just be by the skin of his teeth. I would back ...

Re: Scott Watters sacked: Official SS reaction thread

Was tossing up whether to renew my membership for this year. Was sitting 50/50 as to be honest, I have had a gut full of football this year (and not just because of St Kilda - the whole Essendon saga played a large role). After the exceptional trade period for us so far, and the news from today, my ...

Wonder why.
Because he has shown so far in his short leadership that he is not afraid to make the hard calls or to present himself to the media when required. So far, he has my full support and has 5 out of 5 stars!!

Not opposed to this. He would come pretty cheaply and in his hey day, he was one of the best (2010 he was the difference between the 2 teams and he was brilliant and for most of 2010 if there was no Jolly, Collingwood would never have been as dominant as they were as became evident in 2011 when his ...
