Armitage could play Gwilt's role with equal effectiveness.

Birss is a better option offensively than McQualter.

OUT: McQualter, Gwilt
IN: Birss, Armitage

On the off chance that Ball comes up, then he comes in instead of Armitage ...

Milne kicked 11 against the Lions in '05 BUT without him we still would have won by 70 points. He made no difference to the result. His playing had little impact. Sure he kicked 11, but it was against a side as weak as the Essendon one we played. His performance against the Bombers was certainly one...

mad saint guy, I wouldn't say Lyon brought it from Sydney ...

Powell, Brooks, Ackland, Guerra, Knobel, Voss, Hamill, Gehrig, Gram, Penny.

Counting McQualter and Ferguson is silly ... they've always been at the club apart from about two weeks.

X looked sensational at the weekend in the VFL.

Looked fit, switched on and very slick.

Must be selected this week.

Yeah he is. Mate of mine broke his leg and then had stress fractures, but not as badly as Goose. He played soccer and did some athletics, and it took him 3 years before he regained the strength and speed in his leg muscles. And that was with fairly intensive rehab and training. To be a successful de...

Goose is finished.

Dempster out until late next year.

Would leave Chips, Gilbert and Blake to take opposition forwards.

Our backline would struggle.

One more year please Maxy, unless we win the flag.

Think logically I guess ... What role can X. Clarke play best? Half forward pushing up to the middle, providing a marking option and plenty of pressure and tackling in the forward line, and also some leading. Who could he replace in the side? J. Gwilt, who plays the same role. Who would do it better...

Long time observer of this forum and first day i have posted anything. I do get a laugh at some of the dribble that comes from here. Yup, BigMart's post last week summed it up correctly.

Gardiner is critical to our structure.

How he coaches in finals will be important. 2-6 in finals over the last four years isn't a great record for the Saints, so hopefully we can improve on that.

Xavier Clarke is an excellent small defender. Far better in defence than his brother. He has the speed, aggression and skill to play Dempster's role. Eddy would be very stiff, but Luke Ball offers far more to the side, and Eddy will get his chance next year. OUT: Dempster, Eddy IN: X. Clarke, Ball

He's kicked 47 goals from 20 games. Second best return from a small forward in the AFL in 2008. 2008 is the best season of Milne's career. Averages for goals, marks, tackles and disposals are as high as they have ever been. He can now contribute to the team without having to kick a bag. In the top d...

I have now learnt and others should too, if we win and we cant catch on percentage to slow it down, is really worth the risk of an injury?!! Our Fitness Is Terrific - Credit to Misson and Lyon

The St Kilda side of the second half of 2008 is the fittest one i've seen. We are running out games and crushing teams in the second half. I think we've only lost one second half in the last 9 weeks, and that was against the Eagles. Full credit must go to Peter Mulkearns and David Misson. They have ...

But why make your players gut run in the last five minutes and put hamstrings and calves at risk, or make them throw themselves in and risk collision injury, when the game is won? Alright we might have kicked 2-3 more goals ... but is it really worth it if Rooey pulls a hammy in the last 5 mins goin...
