Hey I've just discovered that two little asterisks come up automatically in a rude word I shouldn't have used just then! (Not rude enough for Everywhere Eddie by any means.)
I was wondering why everbody else seemed to write their posts with such censorious politeness.

Barks, the AFL dictate by percentage how much of the front and back have to be white. The club must work within those parameters. The board has nothing to do with it. What the board has to do with it is that it didn't have the insight or the balls to argue forcefully against the AFL dictate. Eddie ...

It's almost OK, but those thin little stripes down the side are irritating and embarrassing. Why couldn't they just keep the traditional R,W+B front the same, and have a white back for clash games and a black back for the rest? (And the white or black shorts, sock tops, etc) That would look awesome,...

QUOTE -- as leigh matthews said most players play footy as they are good at it, not through love of the ball or a football club -- Ken Sheldon told me once that 95% of the players were motivated by the love of the club -- only a few stood out as only in it for themselves. I do think the draft must b...

I would REALLY appreciate an accurate and up to date set of stats. Ever since childhood I've always really wanted to know the correct heights and weights. Can't they just line up all the players one day and measure them, and then someone go an post them on the website? (They probably do the measurem...

I reckon by 2010 Sam McGarry will be one of our most promising 20yearolds.
May not make it into the seniors this year but will be there by 2010.

Thanks StFid for clearing up the right war. We ended up wearing the same colours as the Nazi 3rd Reich (probably our WWI experience of changing back and forth just got too complicated). The Nazis had great political graphics. Pity about the worst political morality ever. On the colour red, probably ...

specially if his physique stays flat out. Not all of these rookies and draftees are going to make it of course. But it's intetresting that we've got almost a whole team potentially there just within this age group. And at this stage in the cycle, I'm excited by at least three quarters of the group. ...

I read he's so fast he can play on the wing.

Anyway, when you've got 4 ruckmen out of 18 players to arrange a team from, you've got to put them somewhere.
I'm excited by Stanley on a wing

I reckon Barry Pascoe was the toughest I ever saw play. Well, along with Joffa, who was suicidal tough too. I only remember a few incidents though -- running through oncoming packs, and splintering them, etc.

How did we get onto this?

I like Eddy, but he certainly hasn't proved himself. (Watching him in the finals I got the feeling he wasn't going to make it at all.) CJ -- terrific trier, but he's never going to be good enough for No.4 Armo -- way off proving himself. Raph. A season like he played the last few games, and he'd qua...

Please, everyone, ... STOP FIDDLING!! We have a great jumper. The black back is strong and fine! The white numbers are clear and excellent. The more stripes and trims and little bits and pieces we add, the more it all gets muddled and diluted. Admittedly, in this day and age, we seem to need a clash...

I'm quite interested to hear the ups and downs of the cheer squad.
But can my banner suggestion get a little look-in here?

It's the cleverest thing I've ever come up with --

FOUR QUARTERS!
-- FOR HARVES --

Clearly it's use-by date is running out.

Thanks guys, for your thoughts. But I wasn't expecting to win straight through to the prelim -- more likely to lose then win, and play in the non-Geelong prelim. Which according to saintsRrising would mean the non-Friday night prelim. My question is still: is there a chance that the 2nd prelim would...
