Re: Why do we keep getting thrashed?
The cornerstone of our game is our defensive pressure, which is great when teams handball against us. When a team wins the contest and then kicks the ball around our pressure is removed from the game , I personally think we should then go one on one as plan B as guarding space does not work. I think...

Re: Changes For Next Week
Lonie, Battle and Long need to stay in. Why do they need to stay in? I watch a lot of Sandy games and neither Long nor Battle had shown anything at VFL level to suggest they were ready for AFL. Let them develop at VFL level so as when they get another game they are in good form and confident, I am ...

Re: Two first rounders & I'm nervous
2011 is looking like a fluke and beginners luck. I have lost all faith in Tony Elshaugh. Ross, Webster & Newnes. Not a bad effort! Also shows players NEED 50-100 games to show their true potential. Except Newnes has been good since day dot and Webster and Ross showed good signs early on. 2011 w...

Did not know that the two were mutually exclusive.
If they play on at the right price and get picked on their merits then no issue.

Re: VFL RD 10- Sandringham Vs Coburg
Embarrassing performance against a team who quite honestly are not much chop, yet we could not get the job done. Steele was a class above but does need to work on his kicking. Freeman another who needs some work on his kicking but he took the game on and moved the best I have seen him. I see no phys...

Re: Paddy Concussed
Bigmart is spot on terrible technique.
There was only going to be one result from his action and that was a head knock, he has no fear but at what stage does it just become dumb.
Problem is that it would be hard to change your natural instinct, really feel for the kid and fear for his health.

Re: Still concerned
Running out of gas is unprofessional, the fitness staff would no how taxing our game plan is and we should be fit enough to carry it out. Maybe we could rotate more through the midfield then to freshen players up. I would think the number one criteria of the fitness staff is to ensure that our playe...

Re: Mav
I am a fan of Mav but he has not been up to scratch, he simply is not good enough to play injured. His game is based on effort, aggression and work rate and he appears to have no power which is the cornerstone of his game. I think the majority of us rate him as a player, but regardless of whether he...

Re: Mav
Has been putrid most of the season.
His role is a small forward so the two basic skills required are goal kicking and tackling.
His kicking for goal is a disgrace and he is not sticking his tackles, needs a spell either if the VFL or rested if he is carrying something.

Re: Still no Credit for Paddy!!!!!
Just as a matter of interest how many number one picks have ends up the best in their draft year? Rooey, Goddard and possibly Hodge that I can think of. McCartins game was fine for a young key forward other than his goal kicking tonight, presented well got the ball at ground level multiple times aft...

I played St Bedes old boys in the Amos. Kicked four against them late in the season played them round one the following season got a goal in the first minute bent over to pick up the ball a minute or so later and never played again. Re: Positives: McCartin was good
Work rate a tick, would have hot a lot more ball if the midfield had even half a clue on how to deliver the ball. The amount of times he had ten metres on his opponent only for us to bomb it to a contest was laughable. His hands were a concern, dropped easy marks holds a couple and he would have had...

Re: What was said to Murphy?
Not condoning our players behaviour but regardless what was said Murphys response was gutless but seems to have escaped scrutiny. Where were al the outraged media standing up for Milne when he was sledged week in week out. It would appear if you are sledged then you can say what you like. If he sled...

Re: Team vs. Blues
Dunstan will never be an elite runner does not have the body type for that. But I doubt he was recruited for that role anyway. For me the issue of major concern is the fact that he seems to have gone backwards in the competitive stuff which needs to be his bread and butter. If you can't be an outsid...

Holmes has been dropped and promoted at the same time. Well I did watch Mark Scott once play in the Reserves and the Seniors for the Saints on the same day once. Indeed he did- 1982- to qualify him for the reserves finals. Back in the days when our senior team was so awful, we we supporting the Res...

Do any of you posters that want radical changes ever watch the matches? -there is so much rubbish spoken. Dropping either Webster or Gilbert is plain stupid -Webster had a quiet game and made one bad turnover but was among oukvery best the week before. Gilbert is one of our most desperate players a...

Re: St Kilda Womens match Sunday April 23rd
If we want to be in it whenever that happens to be ( :x ) then we have to do a lot of things like this so that we have a nucleus of a team. By the time that we get a go, most (if not all) of the best talent will be gone. They could get some guys to dress in drag. They wouldn't look out of place. As...

Re: VFL Rd 1 Sandy vs Bombers
Love his field kicking and ability to hit targets. Just a question - we are talking about how few goals Paddy has kicked - but is he playing more as a high CHF? It appears that the comments have mentioned his strength outside the 50 (how many marks and possessions did he get yesterday) - and I have...

I agree that Paddy should be tearing the VFL apart but he had no chance yesterday. Was up against Hadtley with Bellchambedrs and Dea assisting. Also agree re pack marks but unfortunately that it was what the game was yesterday, looked really good when the ball is put out in front of him rather than...
