Re: Zach Merret....?????????
Reads like a lot of political rhetoric..I get the impressing reading between the lines, that Merrett will be a Saint

Re: Culture
In successful corporations and sporting clubs, the culture or environment is set from the top and driven hard through the ranks. The Saints in contrast, have a history in leadership of instability, in-fighting, tail wagging the dog and knee-jerk decisions which generally results in those below havin...

Re: 8 more years of Max King
Hope King does well, but he has already had a number of injuries which have put him out of the team for extended periods, and looks to have an eggshell body which means the compounding effect of more injuries during a season which we don't want from key players.

Re: Jack McCrae
Hawthorn players would not be where they are in their development if the Hawks had stuck with Jordan Lewis, Tom Mitchell, Jaeger O'Meara and Liam Sheils. Will Day, James Worpel, Dylan Moore, and Jai Newcombe have taken on senior midfield roles and thrived. Nash, McDonald, Maginness and even Ward ha...

Re: Zach Merret....?????????
We couldn't handle Merrett, as our forwards would not be able to cope with the ball hitting them on the chest from midfielders.

Re: Thank f@$k for that!
I normally don't get all that worked up about the other teams, but funnily enough I felt myself hoping like hell Port (who I don't particularly like either) would beat the Hawks last night. It's their arrogance, the swagger of their players and past players like Lewis and Roughead, the smugness of ...

Re: Trust in your players
Our current midfield won't get us back into finals- it's our biggest weakness, and has been for a while. We hope Pou, Windy and maybe others will step up, but it's just hope and we need to make crucial list changes to get back deep into finals. I know they have good games here and there, but Steele,...

Re: Did We Miss Crouch that Much In The Back Half?
The conversation should be about recruiting. Wtf are our recruiters doing? Why is Ross Lyon potentially sabotaging our future once again? What is St Kilda ultimately trying to achieve with the current list and especially our younger players? Do we want them to take on leadership roles or are we onl...

Re: Grand Final 2024
The Saints beat Geelong and Sydney, so they're no good- Hawks and GWS only just beat us, but PA beat us twice and Bris flogged us-so I'll go with Lions v PA as the PA didn't turn up for the Geelong game last week, but will this week.

Re: 6 v 7
The club's position on the ladder is where we are at- doesn't matter how close we got, or if we were only a kick here and there from winning, good form late in the season blah blah. We were too far off the pace to challenge, and went backwards from last season and that's it. Need to address a lot of...

Re: Keeler, McLennon, Heath, Stocker, Byrnes and Webster Re-sign
Surely we sign up Howard, especially with Battle leaving Collard getting 3 years is one of the strangest decisions I've seen. Haven't see anything from him Byrnes deserves 2 years. I hope the young guys come good, but jeez Collard showed less than nothing, and even got recalled for senior game afte...

Re: Membrey on the outs!!??
Always been of the opinion that Membrey and King don't work well together in the forward half. I thought Membrey lost some impact when they started playing Max a few years ago. Tim's form was pretty good in the later part of the season, and could easily go around again. I would like to see Max up th...

Re: How do we get the best out of Max King?
Many is a 200cm athletic footballer, probably not best suited as a stay-at-home FF. We kicked some pretty good scores without him, so it will be interesting to see what Lyon doesn't next season. I would hope that our forward coach would put work into Max's leading and demanding the ball, as he seems...

Re: Season 2024 in Review
Good summary cheers. I don't subscribe however to overachieving- we made the finals in 2023, by winning enough games to get there in that season..end of story. We got no further due to some deficiencies on and off the field. 2024 was a messy season for us though I do believe we underachieved in vari...

Re: Leek Aleer
We are not challenging next year so brining in anyone over 28 is not a step forward. We have enough experienced hard bodies that we don't need more to protect the young guys. It wouldn't protect them it just shows a lack of faith in them. Tomlinson and Shiel stink of a short-term career protectioni...

And I would add for the point of conversation that the AFL was dominated by the “money Clubs” which recruited the likes of Platten, Motley, Kernahan, Bradley et al and that is just a few from SA Look at who won premierships So they bought in the Draft and the Salary Cap to make the competition equa...

Re: Battle
Awesome. Now i read the saints are into Adam Tomlinson. A broken 31 year old that can't hold a place in the Melbourne team. He did play well against the saints however so makes sence. That will probably drop the saints compo to Band 2 or 3. Melbourne had an ordinary season but can't fit Tomlinson i...

Re: Battle
I suspect Ratten being at the Hawks probably helped- a lot of our playing group liked him. This is pro sport with players getting very large contracts and all the goodies that go with it, so if Battle decides to go, it's no different than an experienced worker going off to work for another company i...

Re: Battle
Something smells here. Battle has said he’s looking after the future of his family. If it’s true we offered more than the apparent deal he’s accepting from Hawthorn then how does that ‘look after the future of his family’? There can only be 2 reasons why you would accept less to leave:- 1. You don’...
