Re: Is it time to play Pou at HBF
Might just be a case of one of those highly fancied recruits who don't crack it at senior AFL level. I wish him well, but I'm not seeing much so far.

Re: In a way the Hawks will be the ultimate test .
Given Hawthorn beat WB, who thrashed us by controlling the ball (and have done it before against us), imagine the vitriolic response on this Forum if Hawthorn also beat us!!!!! No St Kilda player will be spared - all duds by varying descriptions of their missing attributes The internet, hey? And ke...

Re: King ...out of form or
No comparison to Roo at the same stage of his career. None at all. Definitely not.... 2001Nick waltzes into Harvard - Gehrig, Everitt, Loewe, Hall...with Hamill, Hayes, Harvey, Milne in the mid and small forwards....SUPPORT. ALL DAY EVERY GAME...for years. King crawls into Frankston TAFE and he's g...

Re: Ins and Outs
So far, Arie is not showing enough to get a senior game at this stage, same for Collard. Dow was ok but nothing spectacular in the last Sandy game. I would like to see Hastie get more senior games as opposed to Pou who looks out of his depth this season.

Re: King ...out of form or
Never heard so many excuses for a player not performing. Best way to counter that is to go get the ball, make the play, not sit back and demand it on a platter close to goal. Lyon just needs to play him up the ground as a high half forward.

Re: Ins and Outs
I think it's time for a run at Sandy by two players who are basically off the pace, Pou and Owens. The return of Hayes, who has only played a small number of AFL games, showed that they need to up their efforts. Probably Sharman is more useful and can be swung around in different roles and could be ...

Re: King ...out of form or
I feel like that a form slump is what Max needs to break the shackles of expectation. Once he no longer feels the teams weight on his shoulder he can be freed to just play good footy. It's a team game and all the players have a weight on their shoulders to perform, not just Max. We can't wait for p...

Re: win banked and move on
I think we all agree Saturday was an odd feeling - got a win , which is a new thing of recent times, however the expectation based more on North's poor performances rather than St Kilda's expected a bigger more dominant win. North have a good midfield and solid ruck, Larky can be good and Sheezel i...

Re: Byrnes, Bonner Not up to it..
Byrnes is slowly improving and will get better, but he hasn't been our worst player this season and Bonner is not too bad and should keep his spot. I'm more concerned that Pou, Owens and Membrey are not having much impact this season and need to pull their finger out.

If we do our trademark slow start, then Norf might run over us early and we will again have to resort to catch up footy. I just hope we do a better job of tackling and winning one-on-ones

Re: Team v Roos
We do lack crumbing zip in the forward half, and with King, Hayes and Pou, it looks like slow drying cement- if they don't clunk the marks, then it's gone up the other end. Garcia may spend time on the forward line I reckon as may Wood.

So in the same boat as the guy described by a Judge as going back into the Lion’s Den to recover his hat Simply, Howard draws the best key forward - and those key forwards can touch anyone up particularly given a midfield dominance Would you care to list the significant bags of goals these principa...

Re: Higgins Alir incident
The AFL have been pressured by medical bodies, legal bodies and the public generally about addressing concussion, and rightly so. It's more than likely that if a player is concussed due to a tackle of any sort from an opposition player, and fails concussion protocols, then it would be hard to talk y...

Re: Selection over the next couple weeks
King, Jones, Hayes, Paton, Campbell, Dow, Hastie, Collard, Webster, Arie all possibles, but Lyon doesn't take risks which is why his teams don't win premierships. Don't expect many changes.

Re: Higgins Alir incident
I'm sick of the tokenism of gender equality. That's what happens when you put a woman in charge of a man's game. You play AFL you are likely to get concussed. Laura Keene, you look like a nice lady but AFL is not for you. So you would think a woman is ok if Higgins got off? If it was just all bloke...

Re: The Jimmy Situation
I see Webster as a tough nut, but yet another Saints serviceable player without being a game changer. I would like Paton in as much as Webster who needs to show a bit at Sandy first.

Re: No Pressure
I have noticed the lack of pressure on the opposition ball carriers has been a bit ordinary in many matches -very bad against the Dogs, and not good against the Cats and Bombers. We can set up ok when we have the ball, but the poor defensive work of the mids and forwards is making it a lost cause at...

Re: Marshall
Xerri is a good player but any doubt i think Marshall gets a week rest and bring in Campbell. Assuming King comes in for Sharman, then perhaps make a call between Cama and Hayes playing as a forward and back up ruck I think rucks are the least of our worries, and Marshall should be rested against N...

Re: Footy Fix: Ross Lyon is the AFL's most boring coach once again - and it's suffocating the Saints' season
The opposition coaches have worked Lyon's game out after one and a bit seasons. Similar in a way to 2011 where the strengths of the game plan of 2009/2010 were picked apart by the opposition. Yesterday's man I'm afraid as I feared when they appointed him as coach again. You have it the wrong way ar...
