Yeah, plus he would make space in which to lead. No one dared get in his way 😂

Re: Which ex saints would you draft?

I was thinking based on biggest needs right now. I.e. no midfield, rather than just the best 4 players. But the greatest player in the game’s history would make a difference to our forward line Crossy. As would Rooey. You could move Max King to second ruck. If it were four midfielders, I’d go Harve...

s***, how could I forget Plugger. Played for us until 1994, so just makes the 30-year limit. How careless of me. So, Lockett, Harvey, Hayes, Riewoldt .

Lenny, Harvey, Goddard, Riewoldt.

Course would like to grab Dal Santo, Gehrig, Milne and a few others. Sam Fisher would go close, but I’d have to pass as he will be available only for home games for the next few seasons.

Re: RoMa in the ruck

Marshall must be operating under instruction when he grabs the ball and hacks it forward. Either that or he hasn’t been instructed NOT to do it. Whichever it is, he’s our only elite midfielder as it stands. I’d have loved to have seen Crouch and Clark added for this week’s game. I’m assuming it’s on...

Re: Jon Ralph is a tool.

From what I’ve seen of Jon Ralph, he is a pretty fair-minded guy. What has he said that can’t be backed up do you think? I guess it’s like, we’re allowed to criticise our own, but look out anyone else who does. These guys are paid to report news and to have opinions. They’ve got to find something to...

Re: Innovate or perish. Part 2

So in a side which struggles for potency up forward... Scollop would like us to take the forward who just kicked over a third of our score and move him to the midfield because he wins contested footy, which incidently is a stat we have won the last 3 weeks in a row. Owens over the past 3 weeks has ...

Re: Innovative or perish. Part 2

The worst thing St Kilda could do right now is go backwards. I don't want to see a midfield with Seb, Steele and Crouch. I think there is a growing chorus of Saints supporters crying out for Owens to be used as an inside mid. I don't want him to be the second ruck. It's like the Blake Acres debate ...

Re: RoMa in the ruck

Perhaps the fact our mids are struggling to win clearance and we played a very good midfield has something to do with this tactic. Without Crouch we lack clearance strength so to negate this perhaps this is the tactic which has been used.? I think it has everything to do with it and he is probably ...

Re: “Innovate or perish: Why the numbers just don't stack up for Ross Lyon“

As someone who witnesses training twice a week I can assure you it’s not the game plan. The training drills and ball movement are fast, in some cases kamikaze speed. It is basically all out attack. But obviously the defensive part of those drills are less than frantic as injuries would happen all t...

Re: Is it the midfield, or our forwards?

As far as I can tell our midfield is setup to try and negate rather than do anything constructive I get that our midfield is not flash but they need to play with some freedom and dare Coaches need to stepup and make proper use of what we have Crouch, Clark and Ross will make a difference and make u...

Clearly playing the list to see what’s what. Collard over Membrey Patton over Ross Yeah of course he’s going full tilt Are you suggesting we're tanking? Certainly may as well now. Not saying he’s tanking I’m saying he’s developing the list. Yep, I think he has carte blanche from the president to de...

Re: Is it the midfield, or our forwards?

Last night there was hardly ever space for our forwards to lead into. Our indirect, sluggish and uncertain ball movement allowed the Dockers time to crowd our forward line. They then scored with ease on the rebound into a wide open forward line. Forwards need space in which to operate. Congestion is...

Who should be playing that is match-fit and isn’t? Look I daresay Seb Ross would offer more than, say, Phillipou … but the sad reality is that we aren’t contenders this year. And won’t be until we unearth some players

Can’t score
We’re kicking into a massively congested forward line and then they score on the rebound to a wide open forward line. Maybe drop some numbers behind the ball.
