Re: Round 22 v Richmond

There were 23 games last year as well.
We play 11 home games, 11 away games and the game in Adelaide.
The round 22 is an away game for us.
The game in Adelaide doesn't count as an away game.

Pencil in Bonnar for Round 1.
Reads the play well and is a beautiful left foot kick.

Re: Lockett 🆚 Dunstall

Both Great Full Forwards but I believe Plugger was the better comfortably. If you look at the players delivering the ball to Dunstall you had Judge, Platten , Buckenara, Eade, Wallace , Hall etc. We didn’t have those sort of players. In addition in Plugger’s first six years at the club we won the wo...

Re: What happened Round 19, 1976?

At the end of 1976 Jeans was done. He was coach from 1961, so that was 16 years in charge. They got Ross Smith to coach in 1977 and that didn’t work and he left after one year. 1978 was the year that could have been , should have been. MIke Patterson was the coach that year until sacked by Fox I thi...

Just give me George Young at his prime roaming across half forward.

A forward line of King, Membrey and Young complimented by 3 of the following smalls ( Gresham, Higgins, Butler, Billings).

Re: The persecution of Robert Muir is the story football doesn't want to hear

On his day a brilliant footballer. Had 2 very good seasons in 1975 and 1976 when he played 21 and 20 games respectively. He and Syd Jackson were a couple of the early trailblazers for the indigenous population. I remember a game at Victoria Park in 1980 when a certain Collingwood player spat at him ...

Re: best 22 round 1

What is the fascination with Lonie being in our best 22.

He can't kick more than 35 metres, is not quick, can't take an overhead mark , his tackling is average and misses too many easy shots.

Am I missing something?

Re: Let's press the reset button NOW

If the club is giving 2 year contracts to Newnes and Lonie still has a year to go on his contract this club isn’t going anywhere. Absolutely embarrassing. After 44 years of continuous membership and attending games regularly for over 50 years, I will seriously consider whether I renew for next year....

Best mark ever by a St.Kilda player would have to be Trevor Barker V Essendon Windy Hill Round 2 1979.

Trevor's knees were sitting on Denis Scanlon's shoulders. Worth the entrance fee that day alone ( We lost).

If Carlton and the Gold Coast can't get a priority pick with the mess they are in, then you would have to think that the priority pick is dead and buried for ever.

We are giving up our home game. If we play Port twice next year then the 2nd game would be in Adelaide.

If we play a home game in China next year, I will seriously consider whether I will renew my membership. After 43 years of membership, i'm fed up with the crap decisions this club makes. Its a financial decision and nothing else. How does flying to China help the team play better football. So becaus...

Ok, so Elshaug has gone and now the new guy whoever he is is gonna pick all these great new players in the draft. Only problem is we don’t have many picks. If the ladder ends up as it is now we have pick 3 and our next pick is 57 We have no 2nd or 3rd round picks. So unless we trade players for pick...

mcadam05 that is the 1972 Elimination Final video. George Young did not play in that game.

We played and beat Essendon in consecutive elimination finals ( 1972 & 1973)

George Young started with us in 1973 and his last year was 1978.

Absolutely brilliant footballer. Had a great left foot kick. Kicked 6 in his first final against Essendon in the 1973 Elimination final. Also kicked 10 straight against Fitzroy in his final year in 1978 at Moorabbin. Unfortunately was injured for the classic Round 22 game in 1978 when we thumped Car...

Re: Gil McLachlan: "Saints are out of excuses" (Etihad deal)

The new deal is supposedly a winner. According to the figures released by the club we should make an extra $ 200,000 approximately every home game. Over a season and 11 home games, then that is an extra $ 2.2 million coming through the door. However the club has also conceded that the handouts it re...

Re: So? What is your Saints Team of the Half Century

If we are looking at the team of the last half a century then we are talking about the years 1968 to 2017 inclusive. On that basis it can be argued that both Baldock & Howell should not be included as they both finished up in 1968, and thus only played one season in that 50 year period. In fact ...
