I remember hearing Simpkin talked up a fair but by commentators, but never saw much of him myself. Be interested to hear from those who have.

Re: Big Bodied Backman for 2013

How many games has Gilham played in the last 3 years? Hawthorn thought that highly of him they traded him out and Matt Goddamn Spanker in. Therein lies the message. We baulked and so we should have. Oh my lord, you people know very little about football. Just to educate you, he played every game in...

Re: Big Bodied Backman for 2013

Well the Saints obviously thought gilham couldnt hold down FB. i have no idea. Edited for accuracy. The Saints wanted Brown over Gilham. They thought they could get Brown. They didn't. In the meantime, Gilham went to GWS. I've watched more Hawks games than I have cared to over the years. Gilham is ...

...and now that same team is playing Ryan Schoenmakers ahead of him. And if Schoenmakers was available in the draft I'd have wanted us to draft him. What don't you get? We don't have a full back. Gilham isnt the type we wanted. if we wanted that type we have Simpkin to do the job. And Trent Dennis-...

Gilham's 192cm. He's basically the same size as Simpkin but six years older. Why bother signing a player like that?
Because he held down FB in a Premiership team?

Re: Big Bodied Backman for 2013

Really, really disappointing not to land a FB. Gilham was there for the taking, yet we focused on Brown who WCE said wouldn't be traded, and we missed out on both. Very poor. Gilham wasn't the answer - will be better off taking an educated risk on a state league defender. We could have got him for ...

Re: Jamie Cripps-Mitch Brown? !!

Maybe we ned to arrange a three way deal with someone like the bulldogs, who are reported to be into Koby Stevens. if WCE are prepared to swap Stevens (and maybe a pick) for Cripps, then we send Stevens to the Dogs for a pick (say 21). We then send that pick to WCE for Brown. What level of pick wou...

Re: Zac Clarke!!!!

Some quality humour in this thread, but I reckon Clarke would be a great get. Only 22, athletic, 203cm, and with the right tutelage would mean our ruck issues would be sorted for some time.

Re: Should Kosi be given a farewell game?

He was on Before the Game last week saying how good his body is feeling and how he wants to 'drag out' his career for as long as possible.

He is much loved by the players and many staff, it'll be a big call to cut him loose after this season's over. Can't see it happening myself.

Re: Round 8 Team v WCE

Priddis still has to pass a concussion test I think. Really hope he's a late change. With us already having an insurmountable disadvantage in the ruck, we really need to get on top in clearances and contested possession. Priddis almost certain to pull out according to The Age, no link, read it in p...

Good signs, but the Saints outfit of 2009 was the best, defensively, in history.

Cannot believe the odds I just saw on Betfair.

Saints: 1.45
Freo: 3.15

If you want to hedge your emotional investment with financial, it's very tempting.

Loved Kosi's game.
